Selny | Child Safety Standards

Last Updated: 02/11/2026

Selny is published by SELNY LTD. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any content that sexualises minors. This page sets out the standards every Selny user agrees to and what we do when they are broken.

Who can use Selny

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Selny account, and Selny is rated 16+ on the App Store. Accounts we believe belong to someone under 13 are removed.

What is never allowed

  • Sharing, requesting or linking to sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or generated.
  • Sexualising minors in questions, answers, stories, comments, images or profiles.
  • Contacting a minor to build trust for sexual purposes (grooming), or pressuring anyone for images.
  • Threatening to share intimate images of anyone (sextortion).
  • Using anonymous questions to do any of the above. Anonymity hides you from other users, not from us.

How to report

  • In the app: open the menu (⋮) on any question, answer or collection and choose "Report a problem". To stop someone contacting you, open the menu on their profile and choose Block; anonymous senders can be blocked from the question itself.
  • By email, at any time and without an account: info@selny.io. Include a link to the content or the username if you can.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

What we do

  • Child-safety reports are reviewed first, within 24 hours.
  • We remove the content and permanently ban the account responsible.
  • We preserve the evidence, including the content and account records, for law enforcement.
  • We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to other relevant authorities, as required by law.
  • We cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement.

Compliance

Selny complies with the child-safety laws that apply to it, including the obligation to report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities, and with the child-safety requirements of the App Store and Google Play.
